Our single-level, three-bedroom apartment is unique among the Watermark Villas. The floor-to-ceiling glass seems to bring the stunning Waikato River even closer, the view is mesmerising and can be seen from every corner of the living area, balcony and master bedroom.
Kitchen and dining
In our well-appointed and modern kitchen you will find all you need to prepare everything from gourmet meals to quick snacks. It is equipped with a fridge/freezer, microwave, oven and hob, electric jug, toaster and a grill. The essential morning espresso can be made with our new Nespresso coffee machine, and there is also the french press if you prefer a plunger-style coffee. The quiet Bosch dishwasher means that nobody is left to do the washing up. The kitchen enjoys the same views that the dining / living room does so you can take in the view of the river as you organise evening meals or antipasto platters.
The dining table seats up to six people with an additional two bar stools available.
Relax in the air-conditioned comfort of Riverside's open-plan living area, on the modular corner lounge suite or relax in a bean bag and look for trout in the river.
Entertainment and wifi
There is a new 49" curved smart TV complete with soundbar audio system that connects via Bluetooth to your phone or tablet. Just pair your phone or bluetooth-equipped device to the soundbar for great sounds streamed from your own library or music app.
High speed fibre (internet) access is available via our wireless network and is free for our guests.
The balcony looks over the river to the Taupo Domain where you might find world-class musicians if you time it right for a free concert!
Three bedrooms - two queen beds, two single beds for a total of 6 guests
Waking to the view of the river gliding past the master bedroom is a real joy. A queen bed is provided in this and the second of the main bedrooms. In the third bedroom, two comfortable single beds sleep the fifth and sixth guests. A portacot is also available but please bring your own linen for this.
Full-sized wardrobes are found in each bedroom so you can settle in and unpack those suitcases.
Two separate bathrooms means that there is plenty of space for freshening up. The master bedroom has an ensuite, the other two bedrooms are served by a common bathroom - both have showers (there is no bath but a bathtub for babies is available). Each bathroom has a hairdryer.
Security and parking
Riverside Apartment is located inside a gated complex and the front door of the apartment is secured by a lock requiring an entry code - please ensure that you have the code with you when you leave the apartment.
Riverside Apartment has a double-garage on the ground level so your vehicles and the belongings inside them will be safe. Please note that the garage will not accommodate boats and trailers unless they are 5.5m or less in total length. Please do not attempt to park your boat in the garage if it will not fit comfortably - any damage to the garage walls or the door will be at the renters expense and the garage door must remain down and fully closed for the apartment to remain secure. If your boat will not fit in the garage it must be parked off-site as the parking within the Watermarks Villa complex is for residents and visitors cars only.
Heated and available from the October school holidays until the end of the Easter long weekend - free of charge for our guests.
Two Mission kayaks (both can seat an adult and small child, or two kids) are available and complimentary for our guests. Life jackets are provided.
A full laundry facility is available downstairs including a washing machine, dryer, washing line and clothes rack. Should you wish to use the washing machine please bring (or purchase) top-loader washing detergent as it is not guaranteed to be found in the apartment depending on previous guests' use.
Library and reading
We have a good range of books for our guest's reading pleasure (including some children's books) that you may use while staying.
We try to provide a few of the necessities that our guests will find convenient; oils and spices for example, but as Riverside Apartment is a holiday home and not a hotel we do not provide amenity items that some guests may expect us to. The following information is provided so that our guests are not 'caught short' and can pack any items they may require.

We do not provide
Personal items such as shampoo, conditioner, shower gel or soap. There is usually detergent for the washing machine though we can't guarantee it due to previous guests use. The nearest supermarket is only a five minute walk for any items that you may require, though there is cooking oil, basic spices, tea and coffee (a french press is available).
Children, disabled guests and pets
Children will love Riverside Apartment - it is the perfect family holiday home - but pets are not permitted. The apartment is on two levels - the bedrooms and living areas are all on the upper level and are accessed from the downstairs garage and entrance via a set of internal stairs. The apartment is most likely to be unsuitable for those in a wheelchair. A safety gate is available to fit to the top of the stairs and we have a portable baby-bath for babies and infants. Children must be supervised if they can access the balcony as it is possible that they could climb onto furniture, reducing the effective height of the barrier (balcony glass).
